FESCO electricity supply reduced the size of the bill by half

The FESCO bill printing department succeeded in reducing the print size by half on the basis of instructions issued from the FESCO chairman, Malik Tehseen Awan. According to them, the decision was made in order to save millions of rupees in the printing of the bill. As a further announcement, the department also announced that they will soon be transitioning from traditional bill distribution to online billing in the near future.

There has been a plan in place for FESCO to move in this direction for a few months now, and an application has been submitted to the Board of Directives. Finally it has been approved and for the month of December the bill is now being printed in half size. In addition to that, FESCO encourages users to check the status of their bills online. In addition to saving money, this is also environmentally friendly, since it reduces the amount of waste.

The chairman of FESCO further pointed out that the company has around 5 million consumers, which results in an annual cost of around 21 crores for printing the bills and distributing them to the consumers. It will save a lot of money by moving from the traditional system to the new system.

As a result, he said, in a few months’ time, paper billing will be phased out, and there will only be the online billing to be used, and this is the first step toward this. In addition, he pointed out that the awareness campaign was necessary before that and as a result, now the bill includes instructions on how consumers can check their billing online in order to promote consumer awareness.
