Punjab Launched Online Portal IBS to Generate Balanced Question Papers for Students
The Punjab Education Commission PEC has launched an online Item Bank System IBS for the assessment of Children from class 1 to 8 in 65000 Public Sector Schools in the Province. The School Education Department (SED) abolished board examinations for primary and middle level to save children from extra burden in 2019.
The Punjab Cabinet approved the Assessment Policy Framework (APF) in December 2019 and SED notified the policy in February 2020. PEC has created the IBS system on International Standards for the quality evaluation of the Students.
According to the details, the new system will generate balanced question papers for each class and subject with universal keys and rules in one click. It is aimed at assuring uniform evaluation of students. Along with it, a comprehensive Security system is also embedded to compel the Schools to only use it for generating papers.
The commission fostered the IBS and it would produce school explicit likened paper for each grade and subject alongside normalized keys and rubrics with a single tick, a broad security highlight had been inserted to guarantee that schools used the thing bank framework for paper age.
