Govt to reduce working days to save fuel usage

The government is thinking to reduce the working days to save fuel usage and cost due to high rates of fuel internationally and the dollar rate peak.

According to news of Dawn the government seeking 2.7 Billion Dollars in savings annually through this less working day practice.

Pakistan’s total oil import is increased by 96% as compared to last fiscal year. Expert says that this increase is due to more usage of fuel.

Sources say that the State Bank of Pakistan has prepared 3 different plans to save 1.5 to 2.7 Billion dollars.

The calculations told that 640 Million dollars in fuel products were used for one working day. By reducing working days we can save a lot by avoiding oil import.

In the 1st plan 4 Working days and 3 holidays in a week are proposed. In the second plan 4 working days, 2 Holidays, and 1 lockdown day are proposed. In the 3rd scenario 4 working days, 1 holiday, and 2 lockdown days are proposed.

There is no official notification of 4 working days in a week or notification of 3 holidays in a week but this is only thinking of Govt members.

While on another side PM Shahbaz Sharif is interested in increasing working days from 5 to 6 but now Electricity shortfall and fuel usage make him to re think about his decision. This news is based on top news sources so we do not claim that this news is based on our own sources.
