NEPRA Increase the prices of electricity by Rs 2.86 per unit May 2022
National Electric Power Regulatory Authority NEPRA has increased the electricity prices by Rs 2.86 per unit. This price is increased on account of Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) for the month of March 2022.
As per NEPRA’s notice, an increment of Rs. 2.86 per unit because of FCA for March 2022 will be charged to the power customers of Ex Wapda Distribution Companies (DISCOS) in the power charges for May 2022, which will cause an extra weight of Rs. 29 billion on customers, including the General Sales Tax (GST).
NEPRA additionally informed an increment of Rs. 1.38 per unit for K-Electric customers. KE had looked for an increment of Rs. 3.45 per unit for the long stretch of February 2022. According to the warning, the increment will be charged to power buyers in the May 2022 bills. The tax climb will apply to all customers of KE with the exception of life saver buyers utilizing under 100 units each month.
