New Timings for Govt Offices and Austerity Measures

Prime Minister PM Shahbaz Sharif addressed a press conference after the cabinet meeting in Islamabad on 22nd February 2023. He announced that office timings for govt offices will be from 7:30 AM instead of 8 AM.

New Timings for Govt Offices February 2023

This decision is implemented with immediate effect and will be applicable to all federal govt offices in Pakistan. Nadra Offices, Passport Offices, Post Offices, and all other ministries and sub-department’s timings are changed and now open at 7:30 AM. The closing time will remain the same. New Nadra office timings are 7:30. Passport Offices opening timings are also 7:30.

In reference to austerity measures PM has also advised to take back the official vehicles from officers due to the current economic situation.

All govt officers will also pay their own utility bills. In these utility services Gas, Electricity, and Water bills are included. This decision will make help to tackle the economic crisis.

The cabinet members are also advised to pay their utility bills. Their facilities will be decreased and they will bear the charges on their own. PM Shahbaz said that all govt officers, cabinet members, and citizens should adopt austerity measures to help the country.
