CM Punjab Announces Distribution of 50000 Solar Systems Under Roshan Gharana Program
The Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz announced the distribution of 50,000 solar systems to deserving people under the “Roshan Gharana” Program.
In the initial phase, protected consumers using 100 units monthly will be given solar systems through balloting. Gradually home-based solar systems will be provided to other consumers of Punjab. A solar system will include an advanced solar plate, inverter, battery, and other allied accessories.
While chairing a review meeting on Solar home solutions, the CM directed to initiate immediate steps for the installation of one-kilowatt solar systems. She also directed the attendees to bring in solar systems with the latest technology.
With an initial budget of Rs 12.6 billion for the first phase, the program aims to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability across Punjab.
Registration Procedure for the Roshan Gharana Program
The official procedure for registration to avail of solar systems has yet not been announced by the Punjab Government. The Government will announce soon. The users who consume electricity units less than 100 will be eligible to apply. The final selection will be through balloting.

This program will be helpful in the reduction of electricity bills and electricity usage.50,000 solar systems will be distributed to needy people across the Punjab. Nowadays, people are extremely worried due to inflation and rapid increases in electricity prices.
According to the IMF demand, the Government is continuously increasing the electricity price. In the ongoing critical economic situation, a free solar system will help the poor and reduce their financial burden.
