500 Scholarships Announced by USAID for Students of Flood-Hit Districts
United States Agency for International Development USAID is an independent US federal government agency responsible for administering civilian foreign aid and development assistance.
USAID announced to provide around 500 scholarships to the students of the flood-hit districts. The purpose of providing scholarships is to help them to complete their higher education.
According to the reports from a news channel, US Ambassador to Pakistan Donald Blome made this announcement while addressing a ceremony to celebrate women’s International Day at HEC Islamabad.

Ambassador said that purpose of scholarships is to provide special attention to people in the disastrous area. He also said that flood-hit district students deserve more scholarships and assistance to complete their higher classes.
60% of these scholarships will be given to women. Federal Minister for Planning Mr. Ehsan Iqbal also attended the ceremony and said that providing quality education to two-thirds of Pakistan’s youth population is a challenge. he expressed his thoughts that we are deeply grateful to the US for USAID scholarships.
Chairman of the Higher Education Commission HEC Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed said that Amercian Government support in the field of education is worthy and commendable.
