Eid-ul-Fitr Holidays 2023 in Pakistan Official Notification
In continuation of Cabinet Division’s circular No. 10-02/2022 – Min -II dated 23rd December 202 regarding public and optional holidays for the year 2023, it is for general information that the Prime Minister is pleased to declare 21st to 25th April 2023 ( Friday to Tuesday) as public holidays on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr.
An official notification has been circulated and published in the major English and Urdu dailies both at national and regional levels.

How many holidays will be given on Eid-ul-Fitr across the country.? The cabinet division has started working. According to a private TV, the proposal to give four to five holidays for Eid will be given to the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad. The Prime Minister will finalize it next week.
According to sources, if Eid falls on Friday There is likely to be a holiday from April 20 to 30. In case of Eid on Saturday 22nd April, holidays may be announced from 20th to 24th April. Cabinet Division will issue a notification after formal approval of the Prime Minister.
It is clear that Khalid Ijaz Mufti, Secretary General of the Sighting of the Crescent Research Council, said that the moon of Eid-ul-Fitr will not be visible on the evening of April 20, so Ramadan will be thirty days long and Eid is likely to be celebrated on Saturday, April 22.
On the other side, the Islamia University Bahawalpur issued a notification on 11 April in connection with Eid-ul-Fitr Holidays 2023. IUB has announced seven days of holidays on the occasion of Eid. All campuses, teaching, and non-teaching staff will be not on duty from 19th April to 25 April 2023. The long holidays are provided so that students and staff can do preparations for the Eid festival.
Eid -ul-Fitr and Eid-ul-Adha are holy festivals across the world for Muslims. Eid-ul- Adha fall in the month of Zilhaj, which is the last month of the Islamic calendar. Muslims sacrifice animals by following the Sunnah-Ibrahimi on Eid -ul- Adha.
Islamia University Bahawalpur Official Notification for Eid Holidays
Last year, Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated in Pakistan from 2 May 2022 to 5 May 2022. The official Eid ul Fitr Holidays 2022 fell from 2nd May to 5 May 2022.
