Government Officially Promotes over 130000 School Teachers
According to the news, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa KPK Government officially announced the promotion of thousands of school teachers in the province. Primary school teachers ( PST ), Senior PST, PSHTs, and SSTs are promoted.
The promotion news was announced in a press conference and announced by the KP Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education, Mr. Shahram Khan Tarakai along with Special Assistant to CM on information Barrister Muhammad Ali Asif.
According to the data, 51,736 primary school teachers (PSTs) have been promoted from BPS-12 to BPS-14, 17,926 senior PSTs from BPS-14 to BPS 15, 21,316 primary school head teachers (PSHTs) from BPS-15 to BPS-16, as well as 20,247 secondary school teachers (SSTs) have been upgraded from BPS-16 to BPS-17. This decision will come into effect in July 2023.
In addition, a 4-tier formula for teachers is also authorized, paving the way for the promotion of 13,888 teachers working in scales ranging from BPS-17 to BPS-20. Drawing Masters ( DM), Art Teachers ( AT), Physical Education Teachers ( PET), and Class Teachers ( CT) positions also upgraded from BPS -15 to BPS – 16. While Qari’s position in the Schools has been upgraded from BPS – 12 to BPS – 14.
This announcement is made nearly when KP Govt is going to dissolve. However, this move will bring development in the Education sector and retain experienced teachers in Government Institutions. Teachers’ community can continue their professional growth and training with additional incentives. It will help the teachers and ensure better education for the students in the entire Province.

It is important to remember that Punjab Government also announced earlier at the start of this month to recruit 14000 new educators, but a few days ago after the dissolved of the Punjab assembly by Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi the announcement has been revoked and recruitment has been canceled.
