IBCC announces New Grading system for Intermediate and Matric
Inter Board Committee of Chairmen IBCC has announced a new grading system for Intermediate and matric classes throughout Pakistan. Passing marks will be 40% instead of 33%.
The current grading system in which there are 6 grading points that are A1, A, B, C, D, and E will be replaced by the 10 Points grading system. In the new grading system, there will be A++, A+, A, B++, B+, B, C, D, and E. U grade will be unsatisfactory which was previously F.
IBCC shared this announcement on their official website https://ibcc.edu.pk/ on 25th November 2022. Two meetings of IBCC have been already held on this new grading system. The new meeting will be planned and Chairmen of 32 education boards from across the country, directors of curriculum wings, and chairmen of textbook boards of four provinces, besides the head of Allama Iqbal Open University will also participate in this meeting.
Passing marks will be 40 instead of 33. There will be no F grade but a U grade will be assigned to the failed students. U means unsatisfactory.
The new grades are “A++” or “Exceptional” for students securing 95-100% marks; “A+” or “Outstanding” for 90-95% marks; “A” or “Remarkable” for 85-90% marks; “B++” or “Excellent” for 80-85% marks; “B+” or “Very Good” for 75-80% marks; “B” or “Good” for 70-75% marks; “C” or “Fair” for 60-70% marks; “D” or “Satisfactory” for 50-60% marks; “E” or “Sufficient” for 40-50% marks.
