Major Amendments in Pension Scheme 2023 All You Need To Know

The Federal Govt of Pakistan has decided to make general amendments to the Pension Scheme 2023. It has been proposed to fix the period of family pension for 10 years after the death of retired employees.

In case any child of a retired employee is disabled, he will get a family pension for an indefinite period. While the term family pension of martyrs has been suggested for 20 years.

The Finance Ministry has sent it to the Prime Minister for approval.

Apart from this, leave encashment has been reduced to zero and pension has been reduced by 45 % and 70% respectively. Further, the pension on which an employee retires will never be increased again, no matter how much the inflation rate increases.

These new rules will exempt those who retire before July 2023. They will not face any issues in Pension reduction and leave encashment.

On the other hand, protest by teachers against these pension amendments is going on across the country. Teachers have boycotted classes and the teaching process has been stopped.
