Punjab Health Department Advise to Change School and College Timings Amid Severe Heatwave. The Health Department is concerned with the health of Students and Teachers. An advisory notice from the Punjab Health department was issued to consider the change in timings of schools and Colleges. They suggest starting Institutions early and can be closed before the temperature is at its peak.
The Punjab Health department also asked to the Schools and Colleges to suspend the Sports periods in the Institutions till the end of the heatwave. It is also suggested that Classrooms must be ventilated.
The department wants to set up emergency help desks in schools and colleges to ensure students remain hydrated throughout the day. The help desks will also provide first aid to students affected by the severe heat.
only Three weeks left from the Summer Vacations across the Province, however recently the Country was hit by a severe heatwave. The Summer vacations are scheduled to start from 1 June 2022 until 31 July 2022 according to the Punjab Education Ministry.
