Punjab Information Technology  Board PITB Develops a Job Portal for Youth Facilitation

The online job portal/platform jobcenter.punjab.gov.pk is developed by PITB with the collaboration of the Labour & Human Resource Department (LHRD). This portal will play the role of bridge between employers, promoters, job exchange agencies workers, and job seekers.

Since august 2022, around 12500 workers registered on the portal, and 8000 jobs are available on the portal. Chairman of PITB Syed Bilal Hayder said that the online portal offers a comprehensive database of working human resources ( skilled / semi-skilled / unskilled) including job hunters and employers from the private and public sectors.

He also expressed that this online portal is an emerging step toward the facilitation of youth. As in developed countries and in the middle east most employers and job seekers are using online portals and applying the paperless method. It is an important step for the youth. PITB has also worked for centralizing the Punjab Government sector colleges admission process also.

Punjab Information Technology Board PITB was founded in 1999, and later in 2001, it was given under the administration of the Ministry of Information Technology. PITB is an autonomous body governed by the Punjab Government, playing a vital role in the growth of the economy. PITB is mainly committed to providing IT services and infrastructure to Government, Local and International businesses.
