Sindh Govt Announced Holiday in Colleges and Schools

The Sindh Education Department has announced the closure of all public and private schools across the province on Monday, August 26, in observance of the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).

This decision was confirmed through an official notification by the department’s steering committee.

Chehlum, which occurs 40 days after the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions in the historic Battle of Karbala, will be observed with deep religious significance and heightened security throughout the province.

Mourning processions are scheduled to take place in various cities and towns to pay tribute to the martyrs.

In Karachi, the main mourning procession will begin at Nishtar Park, following its traditional path, and will conclude at the Hussainia Iranian Imambargah in Kharadar.
