5pc salary increase for govt employees in budget 2022

According to the news of Dunya Newspaper federal govt is thinking to increase the salaries of govt employees with 5pc ad-hoc allowance.

If govt go for higher increase like 10 to 15pc then it’s difficult for govt to satisfy IMF and if govt increase the salaries with only 5pc then it will be easy for govt to handle with IMF conditions.

While on other side fuel prices and inflation is going high and salaries persons are looking towards govt to get some relief.

But govt is in hot water as they can not afford more increase in salaries.

Sources told that if govt increase salaries with 5pc then govt employees of bps1-bps16 will get benefit of 550 rupees per month in their salaries after deduction of tax.

Govt employees from bps17-bps22 will get 1750 rupees increase in their salaries with 5pc increase.

Pay scales were revised in 2017 and now it’s 5 years past and there is no chance of revision and due to this basic salaries are less and other allowance are freezed on 2017 salaries.

Budget 2022-2023 will be announced on 10 June 2022.
