Not increasing Minimum Salary of Daily Wages FDE Goes Against Govt Decision

As the new PM, Mr. Shehbaz Sharif announced soon took an oath that the minimum wages of daily wages employees to increase from 18000 to 25000. And many Institutions adopted and changed the salaries. But Federal Directorate of Education FDE where almost more than 1700 teaching and non-teaching staff is working on daily wages did not get the increment in their salaries.

The matter of daily wages employees is pending since 2009 in FDE. In 2009 when PPP approved the regularization of more than 100,000 employees and many departments did so, FDE remained failed to adopt the policy. Since then daily wages for employees do still not avail the permanent employees’ benefits.
Moreover, Director General ( DG) FDE Dr. Ikram Ali is overlooking this matter that directly affects more than 1700 families. This act of DG is adding discontentment to the daily wages. They are surprised by the different attitudes towards this decision of the incumbent DG.
As inflation is going high and it is very difficult to survive even with a monthly salary of 40,000-50,000. However, the decision of PM to add 7000 in daily wages and employees’ salaries can give a big relief to these families who are living hand to mouth on daily basis.
