The Punjab government will initially install solar systems for 4.5 million domestic consumers in easy installments. To avail this opportunity , read the below detail carefully and check the eligibility criteria for CM Punjab Roshan Gharana Scheme 2024.

Registration Process

To participate in the program:

  1. Send your identity card number to 8800.
  2. Include the reference number from your electricity bill.

This will complete your registration. After registration, solar systems will be allocated through a draw.

Payment and Installation

  • Consumers will initially pay 25% of the solar system cost through the Bank of Punjab and the National Bank.
  • The remaining cost will be paid in installments over five years, included in the electricity bill.
  • No interest will be charged on these installments.
  • A government-registered company will install the solar systems.
  • Installations will occur in September or October.

Consumer Benefits

  • Consumers using up to 200 units will receive free solar panels.
  • Consumers using 200 to 500 units will get an interest-free loan.
  • Consumers using more than 500 units will receive a 75% interest-free loan from the government.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Households with annual electricity consumption up to 500 units.
  • Only homes with a single meter can benefit from the Roshan Gharana scheme.
  • The user must be a tax filer; non-filers are not eligible.
  • Consumers benefiting from the Benazir Income Support Program or other government assistance programs cannot participate.
  • Consumers who steal electricity are ineligible.
  • The government will verify eligibility using the reference number and identity card number to ensure no FIRs for electricity theft are registered against the consumer.
