School Exams Can be Delayed Due to Teacher Involvement in Unplanned Census
According to the new reports, School examinations in Punjab can be delayed as teachers’ attendance in an unplanned census which is going to start on 1 March. Around 10 million students in the Punjab Government schools have their future in jeopardy as the schedule for the final exams of Intermediate and Matric is yet to be released. Peak Study time is on going for students.
The delay in announcing the confirmed schedule is creating difficulties for the Principals of 48000 schools in Punjab as they are struggling to plan for exams without knowing the exact schedule. The teachers of Punjab schools will participate in the national census in March also, which will make it difficult to participate in the administrative activities for the annual exams in the same month.
Teachers said that already academic year started in August last year, and they have only 6 months to cover the syllabus. They got limited time to effectively taught the students.
The President of the All Teachers Union ( ATU) has called for an immediate announcement of the schedule for the annual exams. He stated that it is frustrating for the students, teachers as well as parents also.
Holding the exams according to the timetable is very important because it ensures accountability and fairness. It helps students to track their progress and timeline to cover their syllabus.
However concerned authorities ensure that exams will start according to the schedule and census will not affect the exams. They also stated that the exam schedule will announce in the next week.
