It should be remembered that after the arrest of Ex-Prime Minister Imran Khan on May 9, his supporters organized protests across the country. Army offices located in different areas of the country, including GHQ and Corp Commander Lahore’s house were targeted by armed men.
It has been confirmed in yesterday’s meeting of Pakistan Army Officers that action will be taken against the armed men under the Army Act and Official Secret Act. What is Pakistan Army Act
An Act to consolidate and amend the law relating to the Pakistan Army. Whereas it is expedient to consolidate and amend the law relating to the Pakistan Army it is hereby enacted as follows.
- This act may be called as Pakistan Army Act, it shall come into force on such date as the Federal Government may by notification in the official gazette appoint on this behalf.
- The persons shall be subject to this Act namely officers, junior commissioned officers, and warrant officers of the Pakistan Army.
- Seducing or attempting to seduce any person subject to this Act from his duty or allegiance to Government.
- Claiming or are known to belong to any militant group or organization misusing the name of religion or a sect
- Raise arms or wage war against Pakistan or attack the Armed Forces of Pakistan, law enforcement agencies or attack any civil or military installations in Pakistan
- Abduct any person for ransom or cause the death of any person or injury.
- Possess, store, fabricate or transport or use explosives, firearms, instruments articles, etc.

Punishments as per Pakistan Army Act
- Dismissal or removal by Federal Government
- Dismissal or removal by Commander in Chief or authorized Officer
- Retirement, release, or discharge
- Certificate on termination of service
- Detention or rigorous imprisonment in military custody and in the case of persons subject to this Act on active service, any prescribed field punishment may be specified as minor punishments
- Improvement for life or short term.
