Education Board Decision Not to Fail Students in 9th and 11th Classes
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Education Boards Committee has decided that no child will be failed in ninth and eleventh class. The Education Board Committee has decided to do away with the concept of fail in class 9th and 11th , from this year no child will be failed in class 9th and 11th.
Chairman Peshawar Education Board Prof. Nasrallah Khan had suggested that children who often fail in the 9th and 10th grade do not pursue further education. In most schools, if students fail in three or four papers, such children are not placed in class 10 and 12 and thus a year of these children is wasted.
Chairman also said that the result is only in 10th and 12th standard, why not give these children a chance to be promoted in 10th and 12th instead of failing them.
This proposal of the chairman has been agreed by the heads of other boards and its committee has also given formal approval.
He also told that there will be no concept of failure in 9th and 11th in the annual board exams of 2024. No matter how many papers the students fail in 9th and 11th, they will be promoted in 10th and above classes.
