CM Punjab Office Demands Rs. 27.2 Million for Repair & Maintenance of VVIP Mercedes

The Punjab Chief Minister’s Office has requested an extra grant of Rs. 27.2 million to replace five tires and perform maintenance on a VVIP high-security (bullet-proof) Mercedes armored car designated for Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s use.

In a letter directed to the Punjab Finance Department, the CM Office emphasized the immediate need to replace the tires of the VVIP Mercedes S-600-L, along with other essential maintenance tasks.

As per the letter obtained by a private news channel, the sole distributor has provided an estimated cost of Rs. 27.2 million for the required work.

The letter stressed the importance of promptly securing additional funds through supplementary grants for the current fiscal year (2023-24) to ensure the security and proper functioning of the vehicle.

Punjab Minister for Information Uzma Bukhari, speaking to the private news channel, justified the repair and maintenance of official vehicles as routine tasks.

On the other hand, where IMF emphasizes controlling the expenses and cuts in salaries and pensions, this amount for Mercedes preparing marking a question on the elite class.
