Dress Code and School Timings Changed in Punjab

The Special Education Department in Punjab has changed the school timings for special children throughout the province because of the cold weather.

In an official notice, the department stated that the new school hours will be in place from January 10 to the end of February.

Under the updated schedule, schools will start at 9 a.m. and finish at 2 p.m. from Monday to Saturday, except on Fridays when the school day ends at noon.

Additionally, to help students cope with the chilly weather and ease financial concerns, the Special Education Department has relaxed the dress code. Students can now wear sweaters and jackets of their choice along with their uniforms.

Previously, the provincial government had extended the winter vacations, keeping all public and private educational institutions closed until January 9.

Initially, schools were supposed to reopen on January 1, but the provincial authorities prolonged the winter break due to the cold weather.

Similarly, the Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has also extended the winter vacation until January 7. However, the Private Education Network (PEN) opposed the decision and requested the authorities to reconsider it.
