Dubai Introduces Work Bundle Major Relief in Work Permit and Residency Visa Issuance

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has made getting work permits and residency visas simpler for private-sector employees.

The UAE government introduced the “Work Bundle” platform to streamline the process. This platform brings together different departments to speed up the issuance of work permits and residency visas. Initially launched in Dubai, it will later expand.

These departments include the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security, the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Dubai, and Dubai Health.

This project aims to help private sector workers by offering a single platform. It covers everything from applying for permits to renewals, cancellations, medical checks, and fingerprinting.

The required steps and documents to obtain work permits and residency visas were reduced to 5 steps and 5 documents only instead of 15 steps and 16 documents. The period has been reduced from 30 working days to 5 working days.

This new Work Bundle process will reduce the Dubai visa issuance time for both work permits and residency visas.
