Senate Committee Makes Internship compulsory for Federal Universities Students

The senate standing committee on federal education and professional training passed the Federal university (amendment) bill 2022 and made Internships a mandatory part of the curriculum in all Federal Public and Private Universities.

Senator Seemee Ezdi move the bill and informed the committee that the primary aim of the bill is to make Internships mandatory in all federal territory Universities. Moreover, the committee is briefed by the Vice Chancellor of AIOU  Dr. Zia ul Qayyum regarding fee structure, administrative control faculty, and other responsibilities.

The Chairman of the committee Senator Irfan Siddiqui asked the VC to satisfy the committee panel regarding the sudden huge increase in fees for the BA program. The fee for the BA program increased from 9000 to 19000. He asked the VC to satisfy the committee with the figures and facts in the next meeting.

Senator Irfan Siddiqui also discussed the fake institutions and remarked that it is the duty of the HEC to take stern action against fake schools and Colleges. He emphasized to the HEC official to make sure quality education in the country. He directed the HEC to submit a detailed report before the committee in this regard.

The meeting attendees were senator Ejaz Chaudary, Jan Mehtab, Rana Maqbool Ahmed, Molvi Faiz Muhammad, Prof. Dr. Mehr Taj Roghani, Aamir Ashraf Khawaja, Secretary of the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, VC of AIOU, VC of BZU and other concerned Officers.
