List of Public Holidays for 2023 – Federal Govt of Pakistan
Federal Government of Pakistan Cabinet Division has issued the complete list of all the public and optional holidays which will be observed throughout the whole of Pakistan during 2023.
As per the official notification issued on Cabinet Division Official website, there will be a total of 16 public holidays in 2023. The first public holiday of 2023 will be observed on 5 February 2023 on the occasion of Kashmir Day.
In 2023 there will be long weekends as many public holidays are on Friday and Saturday. Due to Friday and Saturday, there will be long weekends for employees and students.
List of Public Holidays for 2023
The Public and Optional Holidays regarding festivals of Muslims and Minorities in Pakistan for the Calendar Year 2023 would be as under.

List of Bank Holidays for 2023
The following will be Bank Holidays. However, on these days the Banks/DFIs/MFBs will remain closed to the public but NOT to their employees.

Government servants desiring to avail themselves of Optional Holidays shall take prior permission of the Head of Office concerned and no Government Servant shall be granted more than one optional holiday in the case of Muslims and three optional holidays for Non-Muslims in a calendar year.
The grant of this concession should not result in any dislocation of work. In the case of Muslim optional holidays, the number of persons permitted to avail optional holidays should be regulated in a manner so that adequate staff is available for the proper continuance of the work. The optional holidays are denominational and may be allowed at the discretion of the Head of Office, provided that work does not suffer.
