UAE denies reports of a visa ban on residents of certain Pakistani cities

On Monday 26th December UAE consulate general denied reports of a visa ban on residents of certain Pakistani cities. He said that there is no ban on visit and work visas for any certain Pakistani city.

There was news on social media and TV channels that the United Arab Emirates has put a ban on visit visas for residents of Pakistani cities. There were 20+ cities in Pakistan on the list on which visa was banned.

These cities are Abbottabad, Attock, Bajaur Agency, Chakwal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Dera Ismail Khan, Hangu, Hunza, Quetta, Kasur, Kohat, Kotli, Khushab, Khurrum Agency, Larkana, Mohmand Agency, Muzaffargarh, Nawabshah, Parachinar, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Sheikhupura, Skardu and Sukkur.

According to the well-known TV Channel Report ” Consulate General UAE Karachi Mr. Bakheet Ateeq Al Remeithi that no such ban has been imposed by the UAE government.

Hence there is no ban on visit and work visas in Dubai and other UAE Cities for Pakistani nationals. Pakistani citizens can apply for work and visit visas at any time from any city. There was fake news in the media and the UAE govt has clarified them on 26th December 2022.

The agents were also sending this fake message ” So, please Don’t apply visa for a person who has been born in any of the above-mentioned cities else your visa will be rejected and the visa fee is non – refundable. Due to the heavy workload, it’s difficult for us to check the place of birth of every applicant, so please check and apply accordingly.”

But UAE now issued a statement that there is no such stoppage in visa issuing. All Pakistanis are equally eligible for UAE visas.

The Foreign Office Pakistan also confirmed that the UAE govt had not banned or blacklisted the issuance of visas to Pakistanis belonging to specific cities.

“We have seen the reports. We can confirm that no such ban is in place by UAE for issuance of visas to Pakistani citizens,” Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said.
